About us
SRareTCG is an independent trading card shop run out of Mt Pleasant, South Carolina. We sell sealed Pokémon product in English and Japanese, singles priced honestly by condition, and graded slabs — and we try very hard to be the shop that tells you what you are actually buying before you pay for it.
Why we started
Because buying singles online is unnecessarily annoying. Half the listings say "NM/LP" as though those are the same thing. Photos are stock images of a card that is not the card you will receive. Preorders have "[PREORDER]" jammed into the product title with no date anywhere. You find out what condition your card is really in when it lands on your doormat.
None of that is hard to fix. It is just easier not to.
How we do it differently
- Every condition is its own listing, with its own price and its own stock count. No dropdown that silently changes the price when you pick a grade.
- We grade down, never up. When a card sits between two grades it gets the lower one. That costs us money on every borderline card and it is still the right call.
- Preorders show a real release date on the product page, in the cart, and in the confirmation email. If a date moves, you get an email — not silence.
- Cert numbers are printed on every graded listing so you can check the slab against the grader's own population report before you buy. We would rather you verify than take our word for it.
- Language is a filter, not a suffix. Japanese product is tagged as Japanese and filterable from any collection page instead of being buried in the title.
Packing
Every single ships in a penny sleeve, then a toploader or semi-rigid, then a resealable team bag, then a rigid mailer. Orders over $150.00 ship in a box with tracking and signature confirmation at no extra charge. Sealed product ships double-boxed with void fill, so the outer box takes the damage instead of the thing you paid for.
This costs us more per order than a plain bubble mailer. It also means we almost never have to process a damage claim, which is cheaper for everybody.
What we are not
We are online-only. The address below is our registered business address and we receive mail there, but there is no shop counter to walk up to and no in-person collection.
